Stair Nosing Information
When your project must meet photoluminescent egress path marking requirements or requires additional safety, our stair nosing options by Safe-T-Nose are the solution. The nosing is factory installed during manufacturing, eliminating additional installation costs.
A metal stair nosing protects the stair tread from damage, reduces tripping, offers additional slip resistance, and creates contrasting visibility.
Our UL 1994 Certified photoluminescent marking options meet all the building code requirements and are used in hundreds of commercial buildings across the Country.
Alternatively, we offer stair nosing options for existing precast concrete steps and stairs. Install the stair nosing on the job site, after the stair treads are installed or when you need to renovate old stairs.

The glow-in-the-dark strip may be required by code, is an added safety feature for dark or low-light conditions, or when you need to protect the concrete stair bullnose from damage from heavy use. The aluminum stair nosing is commercial grade. The metal stair nosing is mounted to the notched stair tread using adhesive during the manufacturing process.

When you have existing concrete treads, steps or stairs. This flat profile retrofit stair nosing is installed on top of the step. This nosing offers an affordable solution for several situations:
1. When you need to protect the concrete stair tread bullnose from damage due to high use.
2. When you need an added slip-resistant solution for stairs.
3. When you have dark or low-lighting conditions, the ambient glow technology offers added safety.
4. When your project requires contrasting stripe stairs.
5. When you are renovating or repairing stairs and need to meet updated building code requirements.
A high-strength adhesive is used to attach this stair nosing to the existing stair tread surface on the job site. The stair nosing is made from aluminum with Photo-Glo photoluminescent strip.
